Bike sharing

Shared bikes are found in cities everywhere, good for short rides from a metro station to your hotel or around a lake or riverside. Three common brands: yellow Meituan, blue Hello, and green DiDi Qingju.

Scan to unlock with Alipay

No extra app to download
  1. 1Find a bike on the sidewalk and check the brakes and tires.
  2. 2Open Alipay, tap Scan and scan the QR code on the handlebars or seat.
  3. 3The first time, you need to verify your identity and accept the company's terms.
  4. 4The lock opens by itself after a few seconds, and you can start riding.

Use the bike company's app

See the bike map
  1. 1Open the company's app or mini program (Meituan, Hello, DiDi).
  2. 2See the nearest bikes and the allowed parking areas on the map.
  3. 3Scan the code on the bike to unlock it.
When returning the bike

End the ride properly

Important
  1. 1Ride into an allowed parking area (see the map in the app).
  2. 2Push the lock shut by hand until you hear it click.
  3. 3Wait for the app to say the ride has ended and charging has stopped before you walk away.
Notes
  • Parking outside the allowed area may cost extra.
  • Ride in the bike lane, and watch out for electric scooters, which are very quiet.
